Location
Location is divided into two parts because there are two types of location. The first type of location is Absolute location and the other type of location is Relative location.
Absolute location is represented on a map as a specific place with a longitude and latitude. For example, N71, E32. Another way absolute location is seen would be an address such as 1234 Magnolia Blvd. Louisville, Kentucky. It is telling you exactly where something is located.
Relative location is a bit different. Relative location is less specific but can still tell you the location of something. An example of relative location would be if you are in front of the McDonald's and next door is Paul's Fruit Market then you are across the street from the Feeder's Supply. In this example, I'm telling you where the Feeder's Supply is without giving an exact address but the directions can still get you to your destination.
RELATIVE LOCATION
A location in relation to another location (ex. Kroger's is next door to the gas station by the railroad).
|
ABSOLUTE LOCATION
A location described by it's latitude and longitude on Earth OR by an address (ex. 3232 Sterling Rd. Louisville KY).
